Kitchen Nightmare!

Story of my life...its been awhile since my last update...gimme a break, I'm a busy girl!

So after we moved into our house and finally got a refrigerator, we realized that the way the kitchen was designed made it so that when a fridge is in the fridge space, the dishwasher door cannot open all the way...talk about a pain in the ass, right? At our 30-day walk through, we informed our KB guy of this and he worked up different ideas of how to fix it. Once one was decided on, we scheduled for the kitchen "remodel" to begin...WELL it began on Wednesday and was supposed to be done by Friday. They were right on schedule until Friday when they had issues with the guy who was supposed to replace the flooring in that area...and those problems are still here, which means our kitchen is not complete. Right now, our fridge is plugged in (but not connected to a water line) in the middle of the kitchen. Our dining table and chairs are in the front entrance of the house. Basically its just a mess. They told Kev today they were thinking they wouldn't be able to complete the project for another two weeks due to not being able to get ahold of the right flooring.

My mom is throwing us a small, family and family friends, housewarming party this Sunday...sooo needless to say I am a tad frustrated. I talked to the dude about it today and he said he would do his best to have it completely done by Friday. If that is not possible, he will at least have someone come in and put the fridge back where it belongs/hook it up to the water line. Not my favorite option, but definitely better than what we've got going on now. UGHHHHH!!! Just ready for everything to be fixed and back to normal!

Work and my social life has been busy as ever which is stressful and fun at the same time. Definitely ready for a break though. I think that break should be coming after this weekend.

Anyhooodle...that's the craziness that has been my life lately...off to do some laundry and other things around the house!

Weekend Recap (4 days later)!

Okay, first, before the recap...I have begun "pinning" on www.pinterest.com and let me say...I am officially addicted! I have a few different "boards" I've started, but the one with the most so far is "House Ideas." I lovelovelove looking at beautiful ideas for decorating my home! Especially because I feel its so plain right now...now if only I had unlimited funds to put my ideas into action!

Moving on...

Friday night after work, Kevin and I had a nice dinner-just the two of us-at Outback. Then we headed to Old Sac to check out Evangeline's Costume Mansion (and picked up Lauren on the way)...Lo and I had a great time looking at all the fun Halloween stuff and getting ideas for what we want to be for Halloween...no decision yet though. After that, we met up with some friends at one of my favorite dive bars downtown, Golden Bear. Kev and I left around midnight because I had to be up early the next morning to head to Tahoe with Shannon and Chrissy.

The three of us had a blast eating, drinking, shopping, and gambling (just a little) in Tahoe. It was definitely a great way to say goodbye to Shannon as she left today for Seattle for school. I am really gonna miss her :( Here's some pictures from the day:

View from the deck of the Beacon where we had lunch and delicious rum runners

Shannon, me, and Chrissy at lunch (notice our rum runner cups are empty!)

We stopped at Sammy Hagar's bar, Cabo Wabo and he was there! (He had a concert in Tahoe later that evening)

After I got home from Tahoe, I took a shower and passed out very early as I had to be up early again Sunday for the Giants vs. Dodgers game. And the Giants won!!! :)

Venessa, me, and Chrissy tailgating before the game

Kevin and I during the tailgate <3

There was a BEAUTIFUL 9/11 remembrance ceremony prior to the game

God bless America!

And we ended the day at Chevy's on the bay :)

So that was that! My recap came just in time for the weekend to begin again! This weekend, though, for the first time in a LONG time, Kev and I don't have a million things we have to do...so we will be spending the weekend cleaning, getting the garage completely cleaned out, grocery shopping, etc etc etc...oh and we have a guy coming out Saturday afternoon to give us an estimate on putting some concrete down in the backyard. I really hope its something we can afford as rainy season is about to start and I do NOT want to deal with a giant mud pit back there! Should be a nice, productive weekend!

Time to finish some laundry, shower, and get to bed!

Family curse!

Hello there (all two or three of you?)!

I don't know why, but today it just hit me...no matter how much weight I lose or gain, I will ALWAYS have meaty thighs and a butt...it is just in my genes (and fills out my jeans ;) ) and I need to learn to live with it! Even at my thinnest, I had "thunder" thighs and a big 'ol booty...my butt and thighs have always been the two things I detest most about my body, but today I decided I need to just GET OVER IT! This is obviously easier said than done and will be a constant battle, but it is really just time for me to accept this about my body. Don't get me wrong, this will not be used as an excuse to be lazy, eat poorly, not workout, etc. but I think this revelation will really help me to mentally feel better about my body and be proud of my muscle tone (mixed with a little jiggle that will likely never go away)!

I have been eating fairly well during the weekdays/nights, but still always just let loose on the weekends. I am trying not to beat myself up over it, but at the same time I need to work on making better decisions on the weekends, while still enjoying them.

Today's workout consisted of 15 minutes on the crossramp to warm up, followed by bicep, tricep, ab, and oblique work, then topped off with 20 more minutes on the crossramp. I always do strength training with my workouts, but also always try to do a minimal amount of it and have decided to not be so half ass with it anymore. So today instead of doing only one type of exercise per muscle group (three reps of it of course), I did two...hey, its a step in the right direction, right?

My weekend consisted of tons of fun...just as the past many weekends have. I have lotsa pictures/stories to tell, but in order to make it so this post isn't super long, I will make a separate update about that this week...hopefully Thursday as tomorrow night after work, Lauren and I are going to my parents house for dinner. :)

Off to shower and sleep I go!

The "official" end of summer :(

Well, folks, summer is winding down...Labor Day weekend has come and gone and that means fall is supposedly just around the corner...I feel like my summer FLEW by because we were SO SO SO busy every weekend, but it was definitely a fun summer for the most part!

We certainly ended summer with a bang this weekend...here's a quick re-cap:

Friday: short day at work followed by shopping, dinner, and drinks with Lauren and Venessa...among other things we all three got new purses:

Lauren's is a black Calvin Klein cross body bag from Macy's, mine is a medium sized sparkly (hard to tell in the picture) tote by Juicy Couture from Nordstrom, and Venessa's is a cross body bag from Macy's (I don't recall the brand).

Saturday: headed downtown with Kevin, Lauren, Dustin, and Venessa to go to this thing in the park called "Chalk it Up!" Basically different artists bought out squares of the sidewalk and did crazy good art with chalk! I don't have any pics of it though :(Then we walked around downtown and got some food and drinks...

After that, Kev and I headed home and I took a quick nap before getting ready to go see Taylor Swift with my sister!!!

We had so much fun! Taylor puts on a freaking GREAT show!!!

Sunday a wholeeee huge group of us (Kevin, Lauren, Venessa, Dustin, Israel, Sarah, Matt, Sam, and myself) headed to Sparks, NV (just outside of Reno) for this:

The day was full of too much food (the boys mostly) and booze (the girls mostly) and it was a GREAT time! I wish I had a picture of the whole group but I don't :( OH and Kev won $130 playing Blackjack and I won $70 playing an American Idol slot machine!

Finally, yesterday was spent hanging out and BBQing at my Aunt's house! In a nut shell, the weekend was full of food and fun with loved ones!

Today it was back to both the work and gym grind...I've been still having trouble staying on track with my workouts but all I can do is take it one day at a time. Today I warmed up with 15 minutes on the elliptical. Then I did a few different abs and obliques workouts along with some tricep and bicep work. Finally, I ended the workout with another 22 minutes on the elliptical. I am hoping to get my butt in gear again tomorrow gym-wise as well as Thursday. It'd be nice to do Friday as well, but the reality is that once Friday afternoon hits I tend to be in "weekend mode" and totally lazy and/or ready to party and have no desire to go to the gym. We will see though as I will likely be waking up early Saturday morning to head to Tahoe for a day trip  with Shannon and Chrissy (before Shan moves away to Seattle for school :( ) so there will most likely not be any partying for me Friday night!

OH also on Friday, two different concrete guys are coming out to give us an estimate on doing a patio in the backyard...I really hope its reasonable so we can start getting the backyard up to par before the rainy season starts and turns it into a mud pit! But then again.....maybe we could start a mud wrestling ring and charge people to both wrestle and watch the wrestling! Haha, kidding!

Alright, time to get crackin on some laundry and then hit the shower and the hay!
